In My Mind's Eye

I'm crossing over....

[I was really inspired with Sharene blogging out the weekend in church I just had to share too.]

Saturday the 29th of October 2005, it definitely was a tiring day as mamak night was the night before (which was totally flippin' awesome by the way-maybe i should write on that too) and I barely had the required sleep i needed. We had to work our muscles out real hard on Sat morning too and I crashed out in the afternoon at Jono's.
Anyway that was just some background information la. Service was totally totally... (there is just no words to describe it) God's presence was so so so... thick? strong? overwhelming? (is there even a word to describe it?) The praise was awesome and when Ps Sam said we should praise Him some more I was like yeah.. Coz that was what I really wanted, to just rejoice in the Lord more and more and more.
Then when Ps Alex was sharing on the offering, it was exactly what God has placed in my heart for the past two weeks. She even used the same illustration of jumping off a cliff without a parachute. Well I had two illustrations the other one was Peter walking on the water.
Then as the service began, it was just in step with everything that has been going on. With what I've been hearing from God, to what was being shared b4 the offering, then the sermon. Gosh!! How can I deny it is God speaking and think of it as something born of my mind.
As I was listening to what Ps John Cameron was saying, I had tears welling up in my eyes and i spent most of the time holding it back coz I was too ppl concious. God was so evidently there, and it was like He brought me there and placed me on that Saturday service (I normally attend the Sunday ones). Its like He scheduled that appointment for me without me even realising it til now. Anyway, I had tears welling up not just because of God's presence, but because of what he was telling me. There are two parts to this which link together and it actually falls in place with a prophecy I recieved a few years ago. As He kept repeating it, my heart melted more and more.. I know the price I have to pay for it and my step accross the Jordan was to totally believe in God and trust Him to take me through. But crossing the Jordan would mean I would have to leave everything behind. I have been raised up in the wilderness, lived my whole life there and got comfortable there... I had to leave the mindset of the wilderness, the way of life in the wilderness, every single thing.... I basically had to leave my world to enter a new world. I bet thats what it was like at the Jordan for the Isrealites. Leaving their world and entering their destined world, a land flowing with milk and honey.
Yes though there were obstacles and things in the land looked impossible to be taken... but remember what happened next in the story..... THE WALLS OF JERICHO CAME DOWN!!!!
How encouraging and uplifting is that? Our walls of Jericho will come down too... all we have to do is cross the river, cross it in faith and believing in our Saviour and Provider who said in His word I have cleared the way for you. There actually is no need for battle, all we have to do is walk the cleared path, like the Red Sea, lets walk through the ocean... Isn't it wonderful and so great that when God gives us something He provides a way to it. He doesn't go "Here is ur princess/prince in the castle surrounded by high walls, guarded by a dragon, and fortified by bushes of thorns around the walls, now lets see how u get it" then He sits back with His arms folded and watches us. No...! What He does is He gives us the best horse ever, an armour, a shield and a double edged sword, shining with His light. Then what He does is He sits with us on the horse with His hand holding ours, He rides through the obstacles with us guiding our very hands. The problem is we rather use our own strength than rely on His. Which is where I've come to right now... I'm slowly surrendering and letting Him fight the battle for me, tho its a struggle and its really hard but I know it is worth it. And once I'm totally living in His control, only the best will come to me... it is His promise.
I still haven't told u what God has been speaking to me during service right? This is so typical of me, getting carried away.. LOL! Actually, it is not a good idea to say this coz many people will not understand it, and u might even think other wise if i say this, so I'm only gonna tell u the 2nd half of it... This were the very words that were being said over and over again,

"I have chosen you!"

'Somewhere Out There'

"Somewhere out there
Beneath a pale moonlight
Someone's thinking of me
And loving me tonight

Somewhere out there
Someone's saying a prayer
That we'll find one another
And that meets somewhere out there

And even though I know how very far apart we are
It helps to think we might be wishing on the same bright star
And when the night wind starts to sing a lonesome lullaby
It helps to think we're sleeping underneath the same big sky

Somewhere out there
If love can see us through
Then we'll be together
Somewhere out there
Out there dreams come true

And even though I know how very far apart we are
It helps to think we might be wishing on the same bright star
And when the night wind starts to sing a lonesome lullaby
It helps to think we're sleeping underneath the same big sky

Somewhere out there
If love can see us through
Then we'll be together
Somewhere out there
Out there dreams come true"

-When it comes to comforting songs, I think this song is highly rated among them.. =)

Not just words to a melody...

Something caught my attention earlier in the evening. It came from the movie "Sister Act", Whoopi Golberg said something that just stood out to me. She said, "You gotta have attitude. Coz its not just singing, you're praising the Lord." I know its just part of a script but lets look beyond that. Lets look at the meaning and the truth of what she said. Think of King David, he never just sang a song, he praised and worship God.
I think there is such a significant difference in singing and praising and worshiping the Lord. Many of us get it confused between the two terms. To me singing is just vocals that go with a melody and all it serves is physical pleasure or to drive ppl emotionally, some even use it as a form of expression. But praise and worship serves an ultimate purpose, and it offers a release at the same time. It is a 2way functioning action. When u sing, u might feel sad, happy, light, depressed etc etc, but when u praise there is an obvious release in the spirit, chains are broken, burdens are lifted and most importantly, the Lord is glorified and uplifted for He is the only One who deserves all Praise and Worship.
For those who don't know about church or wonder why there is music in the church, I just wanna say that in church we don't just sing, we praise and worship our Father in Heaven. The dude who sent His Son to die for you and me. Thats the extent of His love for each and every man and women on this planet.
To those who are Christians, lemme encourage u to praise and worship the Lord with all you've got the next opportunity u have with all your heart and might coz it is just not singing, its an act of love. It says in Deuteronomy 6:4-6 "Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength" and in Mark 12:29-31 "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength." Lets love the Lord with all we have, every opportunity we've got from now onwards. God bless.... =)

Is there such a word as 'Radicalism'?

Well actually, the title has nothing much to do with what I want to share with you. I was online and the tv was on behind and they mentioned something about XXXSunday or in other words Porn Sunday. (I've grabbed your attention now haven't I? -dun worry it grabbed mine too) well anyways, they were talking about this and as I watched I wanted to know more coz this is such a big issue in the world today that keeps going on and on, especially for men. I'll admit that I too have fallen into this trap but God is faithful and loves us beyond the sins we commit. He loves us for us.
Anyway back to the issue at hand. I checked out the website and think you should check it out too. The main website is http://www.xxxchurch.com/ and an article in the forum grabbed my attention which is at http://www.xxxchurch.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=14956 . Even more interested in what this woman has to say I checked out her website at http://www.shelleylubben.com/ and read her story. It really shows how much our Father in Heaven loves us.
Christians have been so judgemental and we tend to look down on other ppl in the world who have fallen into sin and survive every single day on sin, but lemme tell you something. It is time our mindsets changed and we start to see the world THROUGH GOD'S EYES!
I leave u with a photo i found on this websites that might make some of you feel uncomfortable, but think about the message it conveys. God Bless!
With love,
Jeremy

"What if I stumble?" by DCTalk

This song carries such a strong honest message... Much of what I face daily. (just another insight of my life for you)

"[the greatest single cause of atheism in the world today, Is christians who acknowledge jesus with their lips, Then walk out the door and deny him by their lifestyle. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable.]

What if I stumble?
What if I fall?

Is this one for the people?
Is this one for the Lord?
Or do I simply serenade for things I must afford?
You can jumble them together, my conflict still remains
Holiness is calling, in the midst of courting fame
Cause I see the trust in their eyes
Though the sky is falling
They need Your love in their lives
Compromise is calling

[chorus]
What if I stumble, what if I fall?
What if I lose my step and I make fools of us all?
Will the love continue when my walk becomes a crawl?
What if I stumble, and what if I fall?

What if I stumble, what if I fall?
You never turn in the heat of it all
What if I stumble, what if I fall?

Father please forgive me for I can not compose
The fear that lives within me
Or the rate at which it grows
If struggle has a purpose
On the narrow road You’ve carved
Why do I dread my trespasses will leave a deadly scar
Do they see the fear in my eyes?
Are they so revealing?
This time I cannot disguise
All the doubt I’m feeling

[repeat chorus]

What if I stumble?
Everyone’s got to crawl when you know that
You’re up against a wall, it’s about to fall
Everyone’s got to crawl when you know that (2x)

I hear You whispering my name
[You say]My love for you will never change [never change]

[repeat chorus 2x]

What if I stumble, what if I fall?
You never turn in the heat of it all
What if I stumble, what if I fall?
You are my comfort, and my God
Is this one for the people, is this one for the Lord?"

Lord my prayer is that you would keep me from falling and if I fall I know that it has a bigger purpose to it. Show me the bigger picture from Your eyes everyday, in every situation. Continue to keep me from evil as You guide me to my destiny in You each and every day. I love You! Thank You for all you've done for me and all You are gonna do in and through me. Amen!

Shoot shoot shoot... lovin it.

Yup yup yup! We had somemore shooting today.. well for the fixer uppers to the Planet Uni video la. hehe... It started with meeting Ray, Jon and Sharene for dinner. (actually, we just accompanied Raymond makan la, lol. None of us ate.. hahaha...)
Over dinner, we went over the script again.... but (read on to find out what happened)
This is where we shot (Federation Square) and the pic below is SBS TV station (yes Lord, one of those would be nice.. Thank you). =DFirst thing that caught my eye when we reached Fed Square was this screen with a camera where apparently u can communicate with someone from the other side of the world. I can't remember where tho. Well, since it was there I thought might as well make full use of it... hehehe.. hopefully its not recorded. hahahaha...After all that fooling around it was down to busniessand the 2 stars of the moment (Jon and Iris) were briefed by the Director Raymond on what has to be accomplished tonight. Not long into the briefing, along came the Producer Ps Matt Fielder and he brought along, Harvard's English expert Professor Scott to help with the script and pronounciation and dictions of our stars. =P While Professor Scott had a one-on-one special session with our ever beautiful female star of this 2 minute video, I was taking a photo with the male star himself. sings "Macho, Macho Men.."
Then when the host got stolen from me and the big shots were in a meeting, I resorted to other forms of entertainment. Taking photos of anything that captures my attention (sorry no women walking around that time, just blokes who we watching the cricket match). And this is what i got..Then finally when there was nothing else, I took a photo of myself.... =P P/s: For those of u who are wondering what was Sharene's job, she's in the Interactive developement division. She's a one woman division and from what I heard did a blistering good job on that section. =)
Well thats pretty much the night... nothing really special during the day. =) This was the highlight of the day for me. =D

A Full 24hours... maybe more.

I just got back from editing the Planet Uni Video with Raymond, Iris and Sharene. What a long night it definitely was. We spent the whole night (started at 11am on the 30th of Sept and finished around 11.30am on the 1st of October) finishing it and finally did so, we we're rushing to meet today's deadline. The end product tome was very satisfactory but being a perfectonist, i still feel that there is lotsa room for improvement and if i were have to spent more time on it i would have changed a few things and used the time i have on that. =)
Anyways, it was only my 2nd time editing on final cut pro and my first time using after effects which was why i took so long actually... hehehe...
Well, actually.... thats not the entire truth. =P I actually did spend some time doing other stuff coz my patience was wearing thin with the rendering and i was also loosing focus.. Here are some of the things outside the edit that were accomplished. ;)When I did this i had Sunday School memories in mind and the song, "Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world. Read and yellow, black and white they are precious in his sight, Jesus loves the little children of the world." =) I couldn't find red colour so the last guy has "red" written on him. ;) This was a bib Raymond found lying around... I have no idea why a bib would be lying around in a University. =)
Now, this one here... this wasn't my handiwork. I'm innocent ok... not lying. All i did was take a photo.... These are just some pictures on the wall... I thought the blue light on it looked cool.
I wonder who this belongs to...? hmm.. definitely not mine. but it does give the picture a lil something. =)
