The only pleasure from home....

There are so many things that I can't seem to do over here in Melbourne that I always do back home.. Stuff like Mamaks, Futsal or football, take late night drives, be with the people i hold dear to my heart ;) and on and on it goes. =)

But the one thing so far that I have managed to do is shoot videos... =D I was cameraman for my Uni Documentary Assignment and now for the Church Planet Uni ministry video. Though it can be very tiring and alot of work but i really enjoy it... though i do get disappointed with some of my shots when i digitize it and see it again. hehe...

In my "to get list" I've included a pro/semi-pro DV cam, lighting kit, and mics. =) But b4 that is a Mac to do my editing on. hehehe...

Well right now its just wishful thinking but I'm working towards it. =) Every dream has its price...

how to counter home sick...

Its really strange that when u miss someone or get home sick, everything around u just changes to make it worse. And I dun mean like u notice stuff.. it literally changes.
I've always noticed thing around me and when i was ok, nothing this bizzare happens.
For instance, I turned on the tv, there was a motor race going on... guess where. Sepang international circuit.. and in the background a BAS SEKOLAH passed. hahaha...
Another one, rushed to a bus stop to catch a bus, and then there was this surf ad in the Billabong shop and its cool and all, then from a certain angle u recognize the place... Its Sunway Lagoon Surf pool.
or when u're desperately craving for some football action and then in Melbourne U when everyone is supposed to be on their mid sem break, the futsal area is packed with students playing and me there with the purpose of shooting forthe Planet Uni profile can't do anything but shoot and just watch throught the barrel of the camera lens. sigh...
Oh then today... sigh... I was in the bus reading and i've never seen the sun shine so bright in Melbourne for so long.. I looked out and got a shock... I thought i was in Damansara... it was so alike... Siao wan... oh and the sudden abundance of proton cars and Perodua look alikes on the road didn't do much help either...
Oh and then tonight, we were driving to go pick up the lights for the shoot and then came to this place... looks so much like Shah Alam....hahaha.... (minus the haze la)
Theres a few more examples but these are the ones at the top of my head...

I mean its just so weird la... but as much as i think its purpose is to pull my down and make me feel depressed, it kinda worked the other way.... hehe... I ended up having a laugh over all of it. I dunno why but there's something so funny about seeing a Bas Sekolah after so long and the many proton cars... or suddenly seeing Sunway Lagoon on tv in Public space and an ad for a Kota Kinabalu Vacation in the news paper... LOL.
Life is just so weird sometimes.... but look at the bright side of it makes it so much more fun and entertaining..

Home sick...

I don't usually blog like this but i'm so so so home sick.. I just wanna be home now in my normal life. Coming to Australia is like a dream and it still feels as though i'm living in a dream. All this doesn't seem real...
I think I miss home because of the dreaded assignments I had to rush to do. In that moment I wish i was home working with the rest of the Goons. This week is the Idols Finals somemore... And I'm gonna miss it... NOOooo... I know it sounds weird but I wanna to be in that seat again with all the stress and pressure..
The adrenalin rush that comes with it is undescribable.
With the other shows that cross from Genting as well and u sit in the chair for hours trying to stay as focus as possible and not to make any mistakes.... =) *syok giler*
Although I'm directing my Uni Studio Project here, its not the same as in the live tx. My group just finished our documentary shoot and Editing is beginning today. We're thinking of sending it to a film fest and our lecturer is really pushing us for it coz she says it looks very good so far. We'll see how it goes... Might reshoot some stuff too if we're actually heading in that direction.
I've ran out of things to say.. lol I think I've squeezed my brains for my assignmnet which I spent the whole night doing... with the company of Sarah. =)
*I hope you didn't fall asleep in class today.. haha.. I almost did. =P*
Tomorrow is my final class b4 the mid-sem break but i won't be going anywhere. gotta concentrate on the assignments coz we'll be shooting and screening it after the break.. no pressure yet.. but it will come la... hehehe...

I guess thats all, here are some photo's from the documentary shoots.. Enjoy!

Our first interview session with Ramon..

Chris the editor.

2nd interview with Claudia.

And here is Claudia with all the Candles around. Thank God we didn't set anything on fire.. =)

This is so unexpected...

Check out the number plate of the car..
I just had to take out my camera and snap this picture. =)
I was at a take away Fish and Chips place near where i live. (I'm just enjoying the fish and chips here... oh and i just found out that the fish i've been ordering all this while was shark meat. lol.. silly me, eating for so long and i didn't know what kinda fish was it.. hahaha...)
Well, i was waiting for my order when i saw this car and as i scanned it i saw my surname on the number plate. So so unexpected... I was looking all over to see if there really was one like that and then when i gave up looking, it came looking for me. =) hehe...
I found it interesting la... i dunno about u. but if u think its boring, scroll down to the other stuff. =P

Digitizing.. u can never escape it!

Yes yes... (U goons will know what i mean)
Here also have to digitize and it is the same thing. but strangely, the tapes here only last 40minutes unlike ours which roll for slightly over an hour.. i wonder why..
Anyways, we (my group) are doing a documentary on the paranormal and shot 2 interviews... (which reminds me, i've gotta go find out where to buy lighting gear.. i simply love the 'Love Tube' which has a soft touch and really compliments the skin.
Well, we had 2 1/2 hours worth of footage and i personally think it was too much coz compared to the c/ways we got. Its a big ratio and i'd rather have it the other way round... I guess we've gotta be really creative when the editing starts... sigh..

While digitizing was going on and we were waiting for the final tape to be done, all of us went out. Some to smoke and some to call ppl coz inside no reception. =)
And me, seeing the opportunity went around taking pictures.. lol.. How often do u hang around in a Uni at odd hours and the Uni has old buildings? I was excited but at the same time didn't wanna wander to far... dunno the history better dun explore.. must research first. lol... Well, here are some photos i took. =)

Youth Alive Victoria (3rd Sept 2005)

It was last Saturday when i went to this place.....to catch the Youth Alive Concert.
They had an Opening Act by this Upcoming Gospel Hip Hop artist named Israel accompanied by his good friend Jamal (who attends the church i go to here..)

They did a few hip hop numbers and some gospel lyrics

with famous hip hop beats and sounds.. very cool!

There was one song where they had dancers too..

Then it was time for the opening ceremony... *Jeng Jeng Jeng*It was 2 drummers doing a solo while the timer on the video was was conting down..

One of the drummer (the one on the right) is Mike Webber, the drummer for Planet Shakers. As soon as the countdown ended, fireworks and pyros were blasting.

The next itenary was the dance which i have to say was very impressive...

The dance ended and then it was praise and worship which i don't have photo's off coz i was busy having fun... hehe...

And then these guys brought tables on the stage.. it kinda looked like a wrestling match was gonna happen and we were gonna have a table match. But this guy came on to talk... He had no arms or legs, just a lil left foot which wasn't even fully developed (he was born like this). He had an amazing testimony to share. It really shook me up a lil... if i was in his situation, i would have given up on life... but he made the most out of his and still is... WOW! Truly Amazing! When that was done... it was time to get ROCKIN'!!!This band is known as Anti-Skeptic. I really enjoyed their music... reminds me of my old loud music days... =) Come to think of it, I really miss it but ppl can't accept it. They make it seem as tho its rebelious... sigh.. i still enjoy it no matter what. hehehe... (say all u want about me)
...*I think I'm gonna go get their album*...

Muahahaha..!

After all that rockin' and screaming with a light head banging (controlling myself.. lol), we slowed down with Paulini. She was one of the top 5 in Australian Idol Season 1 (the one Guy Seb won... Klang power!!) hehe... She was awesome. Strong vocals and good control too... Her singing certainly was entertaining and soothing too...

..The night ended with a sermon and i think more worship, but i left coz i needed to catch the bus and get back home. =)

It was a night i certainly enjoyed, now i'm waiting for the Planet Shakers Conference in January next year... It's gonna be awesome...!!!

Spring is here....!!

Yes Ladies and Gentlemen, Spring has reached Melbourne
and flowers are blooming everywhere. =)
But strangely, its gotten a lil colder at night. (except today)
Anyway, here are a few pictures i took on my way home from Uni...
ENJOY!
